Wacker Chemie AG uses EVALANCHE for communications

A chemicals corporation deploys a flexible e-mail marketing solution

Wacker Chemie AG headquartered in Munich, a worldwide corporation with production facilities in more than 27 countries throughout Europe, America and Asia, has been utilising a new instrument to communicate with its customers and employees since March 2008. This e-marketing software is called EVALANCHE, and Wacker Chemie AG uses it for targeted dialogue with different audiences.
Starting this month we began sending out regular newsletters to business customers of various Wacker Chemie AG divisions. It’s a high quality B2B newsletter that provides info on new products, trade shows and image-related matters, and is geared for an international distribution list,” said Thomas Federkiel, managing director of the agency Forward Communication, who consulted for Wacker Chemie AG on e-mail marketing.

EVALANCHE gives Wacker Chemie AG an instrument it can use with all of its e-mail marketing activities, regardless of the target audience, circulation, language or user device with which the newsletter is opened.

Mirroring corporate design
Newsletters can be designed to conform precisely with a company’s corporate design. And this was a perfect for Wacker Chemie AG given its very strict design guidelines. The layout is separate from content. EVALANCHE’s built-in content management system makes editing a newsletter fast and easy, requiring no programming knowledge.

Tailored communications
The EVALANCHE solution is not just for sending out newsletters though. The ability to filter small and highly specific mailing lists out of the database using saved criteria made the software particularly of interest to Wacker Chemie AG. This came in handy for example for sending the company’s e-cards, containing current notifications directed to an exclusive target audience like an invitation to an IT symposium or news like on the opening of a new plant. “Every address can be assigned attributes such as industry, function, project, internal or external, which are then applied for address selection. Selected (target) groups are easy to associate with content, allowing tailoring communications content with no programming knowledge.” EVALANCHE’s great flexibility makes possible communications specifically designed for a variety of target groups, even from foreign countries. Thus for Forward Communication it is no problem to prepare even a Chinese newsletter within a very short period of time.
